Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Metal Men: Identity Crisis

With Dr. Von Vroon and his Nightmare Menace, the third Metal Men outing was an improvement over the first two, though I still have not particularly warmed to the animation style or characters. I just can't really imagine anyone watching this particular series and thinking they should seek out more Metal Men content. Maybe its just my own lack of familiarity with these characters outside of their periodical counterparts, but I can't really care if Lead gets hurt or if Mercury melts. If there are more of these, I am hoping for a short titled Amalgam about a super-sized Metal Men alloy.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Muppet Babies: Sing a Song of Superheroes

The Muppet Babies animated series aired over 100 episodes from 1984 through 1991. During the final season,  Sing a Song of Superheroes paid homage to comic book superheroes while the Mupplings sang opera. We ended up with tributes to Batman, the Wonder Twins, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This really cannot be considered a classic, but it certainly is a lot more than just a set of cameos. And, this is probably the closest thing to a Batman Ninja Turtles team up you will ever get.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Tokimeki Tonight

I confess, I know very little about this anime. It ran in 1984. Sometimes one of the characters daydreamed being Superman. One of the other characters was the daughter of a vampire and werewolf. If it came out today in the US, it would probably be huge...

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Superman Recap

Overall, the 1988  Superman series is awfully forgettable. It seems to have made some of the same mistakes that Superman Returns made years later. In being so respectful of the live action Superman: The Movie, this series seemed almost afraid to step out of the shadow of the Superman film series. There were plenty of homages from similar scenes to musical cues, but the series lacked much identity of its own and while not really bad was quite bland. Strangely, even though there were just 13 episodes, it sort of felt like they were already out of ideas, or that they were almost out of ideas when they started.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - It's Superman

Somehow Clark scooped Lois by taking a picture of himself in action Peter Parker style. This was a but unusual for a family album since it was really the introduction of Superman to Metropolis. But either way, it was pretty lame.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Last Time I Saw Earth

With such an epic title I was expecting  something special - and it kinda was. I feel like they may have been wanting to use Darkseid, but instead an orange alien named Starlock kidnapped Lois and Jimmy who just happened to be riding on the space shuttle.
