Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Bat Man of Shanghai: Bat Man

And all too soon this series of shorts concluded leaving me yearning for more. Once again this was just spectacular as the trio of characters clashed. I even enjoyed the cutaways that depicted a cat, bear, and bat brawling. If there is a weakness, its the lackluster story, but with this much amazing style and action, who cares. This just may be the best of the already superb bunch.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Day the Ocean Disappeared

The baddie in this one stole the Gulf of Mexico so he could water a desert. Sounds like a good plan... in fact, I thought it sounded familiar and it turns out that as ludicrous as this plan was, it was also the plot of the Super Friends episode, Frozen Peril. The thing is, even if you could compress the ocean into a bottle, it would be really heavy, like super heavy. At least in Frozen Peril the ocean was being stolen as chunks of ice rather than in tiny bottles. Either way, I was not terribly impressed.

Superest Superhero Sequels

Its that time of year again. If there is one sure thing in life its that the summer will bring at least one superhero sequel - this year we can look forward to Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, and later in the year Thor: The Dark World. Will they be any good? Chances are yes, but here is the competition of the best superhero sequels ever made.

The Flashpoint Paradox Zooms to DVD in July!

In the past, the third DC animated movie of the year has been released around September. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox has targeted July. What does this mean? Does this mean we may get treated to another movie in October? One can only hope, but at the very least its great news that this will be arriving so soon! Here is what we know for now:

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Wham Bam, Beware of the Clam

Not since Aquaman's The Crimson Monster from the Pink Pool has an episode title seemed so rife with double entendre - maybe I am just sick in the head. You know who else is sick in the head, the makers of this episode. Why does a clam need an eye-patch? Who does he think he is, Nick Fury? I will go ahead and admit, the whole idea of the clam being the mastermind was sort of funny, but the humor was not sustainable for 20+ minutes. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing a modernized take on Plastic Man vs the Clam, which is the best thing I have to say about this series so far.

Super History of Superman: It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Superman (1975)

There is nothing really "special" about the 90 minute TV adaptation of the It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman Broadway musical which aired in 1975. Superman sang while courting Lois Lane and fighting mafia thugs. Frankly, the less said about this, the better.

Marvel Rejoins the Animated Movie Game

Although it was Marvel's Ultimate Avengers that kicked off the modern wave of animated direct to video movies, it has been DC that has dominated the market with three regular releases each year. Marvel seemingly left the game in 2011 with the lackluster Thor: Tales of Asgard, but they are back in action this month with Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. The anime features a rogue Iron Man being hunted by Black Widow, War Machine, Hawkeye and the Punisher. A new trailer was released today with the movie coming out in just two weeks.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Dr. Irwin and Mr. Meteor

Dr Irwin, already a super dork gained Superman III cyborgian powers from a meteor which also made him super evil apparently. It was fun watching Plas get beat up, Penny's whining is already getting incredibly annoying. And cyborg Penny was lame. As anyone from the Star Wars series would say, I have a bad feeling about this. 33 episodes to go and I suspect is gonna be a slog. At least this one was only 10 minutes. Since I really don't have anything else to say about this episode, let me take a tangent. Why "Plastic Man?" Plastic isn't even stretchy, is it? Shouldn't he be Flexi Man, Booger Man, or the ultra obvious Rubber Man?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Weed

Its days like today I think this whole "watch every episode" gimmick is a bad idea. With just 1 episode in to this Plastic Man series and 34 to go, I am already wishing I could just get on to Batman: The Animated Series already. This episode was just so bland and ironically "stretched out."

Watch the First Clip from Teen Titans Go!

No, this isn't your Dad's Teen Titans. Released this past weekend at Wondercon was the first clip from Teen Titans Go featuring Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg loosing various appendages battling Cinderblock while Robin waited in line at a Deli. This may give a bit of an idea of the flavor to expect from the show. Enjoy:

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Plastic Man

Although originally created by Quality Comics, Plastic Man has long since been integrated into the mainstream DC Universe, hence his all too brief cameo in the first season of Super Friends.
