Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Bat Man of Shanghai: Bane


The Cat Woman short was such an experience that my expectations for this second act were sky high. And guess what? I was equally captivated. I enjoyed this short from the start, but when Bane turned into a rolling ball, this episode earned my audible acclaim. Cat Woman may remain a tad higher on my list of favorites, but this is darned close.

Poor Aquaman, in 2006 he was back in the spotlight again in a series of comedic segments on Adult Swim which showed him dancing in various locales from the Supermarket to the Taj Mahal.

In yet another Cartoon Network promo, the Legion of Doom were portrayed as whiners wanting everything from more powers to pants for Brainiac. Its funny because Brainiac really does need some decent pants!

Super History of Superman: Super Friends (1973-86)


For over a decade, Superman held a position as a core team member of the Super Friends, later the Super Powers team. Although the adventures usually focused on team-ups, over the course of the 100+ episodes, the Man of Steel received his fair share of spotlights.

Continuing with the nostalgic flair provided by the Super Friends, Cartoon Network used the heroes to not only promote the network, but some of the next generation of heroes in this promo which had the Power Puff Girls defeating the Legion of Doom. Someday, the girls hope to be as developed as Wonder Woman...

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Aquaman & Friends Action Hour



Perhaps a victim of his own success, Aquaman went from headlining his own show in the 1960's to being lampooned alongside the Wonder Twins as the laughing stocks among the superheroes. I think that writers struggled with making Aquaman heroic as a member of the dry land dwelling Super Friends. After years of seeming useless, Aquaman became the butt of the joke and the topic of countless lazy fish puns. The culmination of mockery for the washed up King of Atlantis was in the form of Cartoon Network Latin America's 7 episode run of The Aquaman & Friends Action Hour in 2003.
